Outreach in 2025

Summer Camp

Are you ready to unleash your creativity and build the future through robotics? Under the guidance of R2JESU’s FIRST Robotics Competition team, students have the opportunity to learn all about the fundamentals of robotics. Using XRP Robots, students acquire the skills necessary for a FIRST robotics team. Such skills include engineering, design processing, coding, critical thinking, teamwork, and marketing.  Students compete in many challenges. They code their robots to run a course in an autonomous (controlled by code) period and learn how to control their robots in teleop (controlled by a controller). On the last day of camp, students put everything they learn into action. They get to show off their robots and new skills in a tournament based off of the XRP game, Orbit Odyssey.

RISE

In addition to our week-long summer camp, our team also hosts different sessions to share robotics with the RISE students at Cor Jesu Academy. "Readiness. Intellect. Spirituality. Empowerment.

Are you ready to RISE? Cor Jesu Academy's RISE program prepares middle school girls with the skills necessary to earn admittance to and succeed at the top high schools in St. Louis. RISE is designed to supplement a student's traditional middle school education, with a focus on Math, English Language Arts and Leadership." -Cor Jesu Academy. We share coding, marketing, and what FIRST is through 4-hour sessions with 6-10 rising 9th grade girls.

STEM Awareness K-6

In July, several of our members went to the Back to School event at Most Holy Trinity hosted by The Holiday House STL. We partnered with  FIRST in Missouri to raise awareness about all the programs FIRST offers. To do this, we brought our XRP game, Orbit Odyssey, and had students practice driving and putting rubble in the loading zones.

Kickoff 2025

Joined by Ursuline Bearbotics, SLUH RoboBills, DRE@M, Oakville Dynamics, and Bishop Dubourg Cavaliers, all seven teams collaborated as we were introduced to the new season. Everyone gathered in the auditorium to watch the Kickoff live stream, collaborated with other students and then broke into smaller groups to discuss the game. After discussing strategy, autonomous, rules, and mechanisms, everyone gathered again. Each group shared what they had come up with. The day was filled with learning, exploring, and making new connections between teams.

FTC Team Support

This season we continued to mentor FTC Team #4982 Cafe Bot! One of our members, Eleanor, is also on this team. This season we were able to help them 3D print some parts for their robot as well as giving them inspiration and advice for their hanging mechanism!
